Connecting the DVR to the Computer
1. Depending on the age of the equipment, a Cross Over Ethernet cable may be necessary,
some newer units auto adjust and only require a straight through Ethernet cable.
2. Plug one end to the network connection on laptop and the other end to the network
connection on the DVR.
3. Open Internet Explorer (8, 9, or 10, 32 bit version only) and in the address bar type
169.254.1.1.
4. Hit enter.
5. In the Login Screen, use either the default user name and password or the one you created
in step 9 of “How to configure the DVR” on page 16.
Default login: Name: Admin Password: 11111111
Note: You may be prompted to install Active X control. This is necessary for the program
to operate correctly.
