RESOLUTION The recording resolution can be set to one of
three different levels. A higher recording
resolution means a shorter recording time on
a hard drive. (See Table 3-6, Table 3-7, or
Table 3-8.) The recording resolution is a
global setting and affects all the cameras and
the alarm settings.

CAMERA 4 SPEED
The camera speed can be set differently for
each camera. Maximum aggregate speed of
30 FPS at 720×480 resolution across all four
channels. For example, 7.5 FPS for four
cameras (7.5 FPS × 4 = 30 FPS).

7.5 FPS
Maximum aggregate speed of 60 FPS at
720×240 resolution across all four channels.
For example, 15 FPS for four cameras (15
FPS × 4 = 60 FPS).

FPS, 15 FPS, 10 FPS, 7.5 FPS, 6 FPS,
5
FPS, 4 FPS, 3 FPS, 2 FPS, 1 FPS, OFF
Maximum aggregate speed of 120 FPS at
360×240 resolution across all four channels.
For example, 30 FPS for four cameras (30
FPS × 4 = 120 FPS).

QUALITY
The EX4 Plus 35 DVR uses MPEG-4 video
compression to extend the recording time on
the hard drive. The Quality option lets you
choose the amount a picture is compressed
versus the amount of memory the picture
takes up on the hard drive. A higher picture
quality (6) means lower compression and
therefore a higher memory requirement. A
lower picture quality (1) means higher
compression.

RECORD AUDIO By turning Record Audio to OFF, no signal is
recorded from the audio inputs. This feature
is useful if no microphones are being used as
hard drive memory space is not used to
record unnecessary audio channels. At slow
record speeds, this can amount to a
considerable savings.
