2.10.15 T1 Physical Interface Card for M-series Routers
The four-port T1 Physical Interface Card (PIC) for the M-series Internet
backbone routers offers high-density, clear-channel and fractional-T1 (1.544
Mbps) connectivity. The T1 PIC leverages the raw wire-rate performance and
rich packet processing capabilities of the M-series platforms, enabling you to
support a wide range of services, such as packet filtering, class of service,
rate limiting, and sampling.
Features
§ Supports speeds up to 1.544 Mbps, full duplex
§ Fine-granularity rate limiting for tiered and bursty services
§ Integrated data service unit (DSU) functionality

2.10.16 E1 Physical Interface Card for M-series Routers
The four-port E1 Physical Interface Card (PIC) for M-series Internet
backbone routers offers E1 and fractional-E1 (2.048 Mbps) connectivity. The
E1 PIC leverages the raw wire-rate performance and rich packet processing
capabilities of the M-series platforms, such as rate limiting and filtering. Both
BNC coax and RJ-48 connectors are available
Features
§ Supports speeds up to 2.048 Mbps, full duplex
§ Fine-granularity rate limiting on input and output for tiered and bursty
services
§ G.703 and G.704 framed modes
§ Balanced (120 ) and unbalanced (75 ) modes
