Relays
The standard GL-series kiln comes with an
insulating firebrick top with element grooves
that eliminate element pins. The upgrade op
-
tion is a ceramic fiber top with embedded
heating elements. The fiber top helps keep the
glass clean during firing. (It is available only
for the GL-24 kilns.) Deluxe optional
mercury relays are quieter and ex

tremely long lasting.
Top, Side &
Door Elements
The basic GL-series kiln comes
with top-mounted heating elements for
even glass expansion. Use side heat for taller pro

brick grooves, span the three walls in horizontal
rows:
GL-18A and GL-18AD: 4 rows
GL-24A and GL-24AD: 6 rows
Side and door elements offer unsurpassed heat
distribution for difficult pieces. (The door with el-
ements is always hinged on the right side.)

GL-Series Square Kilns
T
he GL-series interior is high
enough to bend glass for
curved windows or cabinet
doors and to repair lamp shades. Make
huge glass-fused platters. Crack the
door to drag a rod across the softened
glass or to emboss designs in the
surface.
Paragon’s beautifully crafted GL-series are
made for years of rigorous firing, as artists all
over America can attest. The insulating firebrick,
wrapped in heavy-guage steel, soak up heat for
slow, even cooling.
The spring-pressure latch and a ½" recess
around the edge of the door seal the door tight.
The door remains rock-steady on a heavy hinge
shaft. Four hand lifts aid moving. The base is
open in the back and slotted to dissipate heat.
The kilns are ideal for classrooms, because stu-
dents are less apt to slam a kiln door than a lid.
T
he GL-44AD and GL-64AD digital kilns
quickly pay for themselves by producing
large glass panels, curved windows,
lamp shades or production loads of small pieces.

GL-64AD 22” 64” 16”
The 16” depth is ideal for glass sagging. Op

ging and bending. The Sentry 12 key digital
controller is standard (page 4).
The GL-64AD has eight peepholes along the
front; the GL-44AD has six. When ordering the

The lid is easy to lift with Paragon’s exclusive
LiteLid spring counter-balance. The GL-44AD
comes with two LiteLid assemblies; the
GL-64AD comes with three. The lid is insulated
with 1” ceramic fiber and 3” ceramic fiber board.
Replaceable heating elements mount in pinless
lid fiber board grooves. 2 1/2” insulating firebrick
lines the walls and bottom. A welded 2" tubular
steel frame reinforces the kiln for long life. We are
so confident in the GL-44AD and GL-64AD that
we back them with a two-year warranty.
