Storage Overhead
There is a certain amount of overhead required when writing data to a CD. Each selected file gets written to a
separate file when it is stored on the CD. The overhead for the first track is approximately 24 MB. Each
subsequent track requires about 15 MB.
Note: For example:
• Archiving a 40 MB file requires 64 MB (40 + 24 = 64)
• Archiving a 40 and a 44 MB file requires 123 MB ((40 + 24) + (44 + 15) = 123 MB)
• Archiving a 40, 44, and 82 MB file requires 220 MB ((40 + 24) + (44 + 15) + (82 + 15) = 220MB)
