18.1 How to select a specific code/return to the pre-set code V.18
Press The display shows:
Press until the arrow points to >7.Communications.
Press The display shows:
Either
Press to select >1.Automatic (V.18).
Display shows: >V.18 mode set.
Or
Press until the arrow points to the code you want.
Press to select the code.
18.2 Parity mode and Direction mode
These settings are used for communicating with old fashioned textphones. Direction
mode and parity mode are only used to adjust communications when the default
settings do not work.
Parity is a form of error detection used when sending text. There are three different
types of parity:
 a Even Parity also called 7E1
 a Odd Parity also called 7O1
 a No Parity also called 8N1
The parity setting determine whether you wish to send parity data with your text. If you
