2 Verwendungszweck Das Soundfield System EMP 2015 ist eine hochwertige Kombination aus Mikrofon, Taschensender und Verstärker mit integriertem Empfangsteil. Eine zuverlässige Tonübertragung in hoher Klangqualität wird durch den Einsatz moderner PLL- und Mikroprozessortechnik in Kombination mit dem Rauschunterdrückungsverfahren HDX und moderner Verstärkertechnik erreicht. Das umfangreiche Zubehörangebot ermöglicht es Ihnen, das Soundfield System optimal auf den individuellen Einsatz abzustimmen.
3 Sicherheitshinweise Öffnen Sie niemals ein Gerät. Arbeiten an stromführenden Teilen müssen immer vom Fachmann ausgeführt werden. Für Geräte, die eigenmächtig vom Kunden geöffnet wurden, erlischt die Gewährleistung. Trennen Sie immer die Verbindung zum Stromnetz, wenn Sie Leitungen umstecken oder das Gerät an einen anderen Platz stellen wollen. Halten Sie Abstand zu Heizungen und Heizstrahlern, stellen Sie das Gerät nie direkt in die Sonne.
5 Komponenten des Soundfield Systems Verstärker EMP 2015 Der Verstärker mit integriertem Empfänger ist die Zentraleinheit, an die Sie weitere Wiedergabe- und Aufnahmegeräte sowie Funk-Mikrofon-Anlagen (FM-Anlagen) für Hörgeschädigte anschließen können.
Taschensender SK 500 Der Taschensender überträgt die Signale des angeschlossenen Mikrofons drahtlos an den Empfangsteil des Verstärkers.
6 Inbetriebnahme Verstärker Aufstellungsort Das System verfügt über eine temperaturgesteuerte Belüftung. Bitte achten Sie darauf, dass die Löcher in den Seitenteilen nicht abgedeckt sind, um eine ungehinderte Belüftung zu ermöglichen. Eine integrierte Temperaturüberwachung schützt das Gerät vor Überhitzung. Es schaltet den Verstärker bei zu hohen Temperaturen ab und nach dem Abkühlen automatisch wieder ein.
Antenne einschrauben 씰 Schrauben Sie die Antenne in die Antennenbuchse (M3-Anschluss). Mikrofon an Sender anschließen 씰 Stecken Sie den 3,5-mm-Klinkenstecker " des Mikrofonkabels in die Klinkenbuchse (MIC / LINE) . 씰 Verriegeln Sie den Klinkenstecker, indem Sie den Gewindering $ einschrauben. Basissystem aufbauen Das Basissystem umfasst den Verstärker EMP 2015, einen Taschensender SK 500, ein Mikrofon und Lautsprecher: Lautsprecher im Raum aufstellen Mit dem Soundfield System soll ein möglichst gleichmäßiges Schallfeld im gesamten Raum erzeugt werden. Die Stimme des Sprechers soll nicht lauter als normal wiedergegeben werden, sondern überall im Raum gleich gut zu hören sein.
Lautsprecher anschließen Der Verstärker verfügt über vier unabhängige Endstufen. Sie können an das Soundfield System EMP 2015 bis zu 8 Lautsprecher anschließen. Bei einem System mit bis zu 8 Lautsprechern muss die Impedanz der einzelnen Lautsprecher zwischen 4 und 8 Ohm liegen. Die Impulsspitzenleistung muss mindestens 30 W betragen. Wenn Sie mehr als einen Lautsprecher verwenden, müssen Sie darauf achten, dass die einzelnen Lautsprecher die gleiche Polung (+/–) haben.
Soundfield System ein- und ausschalten Verstärker ein-/ausschalten Der Verstärker hat sowohl einen Netzschalter als auch einen Betriebsschalter . Der Netzschalter trennt den Verstärker vom Netz und kann immer eingeschaltet bleiben. 씰 Schalten Sie den Verstärker nur bei der Inbetriebnahme über den Netzschalter ein und lassen Sie ihn danach in der Position „I“. 씰 Schalten Sie den Verstärker im normalen Betrieb nur über den Betriebsschalter ein- bzw. aus.
Der schnelle Einstieg in die Bedienung Sender und Empfangsteil des Soundfield Systems sind werkseitig so voreingestellt, dass Sie nach dem Aufbau der Anlage und der Inbetriebnahme der Geräte sofort arbeiten können. Um jedoch immer eine gute Sprachwiedergabe sicherzustellen, sollten Sie in jedem Fall die Mikrofonempfindlichkeit des Senders richtig einstellen ( „Empfindlichkeit einstellen“).
Batterieanzeige Die rote Leuchtanzeige (LED) und die Balkenanzeige im Display informieren Sie über den aktuellen Betriebszustand des Senders. Balkenanzeige: Die Balkenanzeige zeigt die Batterieleistung in drei Stufen an: 8 Segmente: Die Batterie ist voll 4 Segmente: Die Batterieleistung ist ausreichend 1 Segment: Die Batterieleistung ist erschöpft, sie reicht nur noch für kurze Zeit Hinweis: Auch bei einer bereits benutzten Batterie können für kurze Zeit alle 8 Segmente angezeigt werden.
Audiogeräte anschließen An den Verstärker können Sie zwei Mono- oder Stereo-Geräte anschließen. 씰 Stecken Sie die Cinch-Stecker der Audiogeräte in die Cinch-Buchsen (LINE IN) auf der Rückseite des Verstärkers. Entnehmen Sie den nebenstehenden Abbildungen, wie Sie die verschiedenen Audiogeräte anschließen müssen. Hinweis: Die Stereosignale werden im Verstärker zu einem Monosignal zusammengeführt. 2 Mono-Wiedergabegeräte 씰 Stellen Sie die Stereo-Wiedergabegeräte, sofern möglich, auf „mono“ um.
Funk-Mikrofon-Anlagen für Hörgeschädigte anschließen Sie können an jeden der beiden Line-Ausgänge (LINE OUT) einen FMSender einer Funk-Mikrofon-Anlage (FM-Anlage) eines beliebigen Herstellers anschließen. Dieser FM-Sender überträgt den Ton eines oder mehrerer Sprecher sowie ggf. eines angeschlossenen Wiedergabegerätes an den FM-Empfänger des Hörgeschädigten. Dadurch muss der Sprecher nicht mehrere Sender und Mikrofone am Körper tragen, sondern nur den Sender und das Mikrofon des Soundfield Systems.
7 Spezielle Anwendungen System mit bis zu 8 Lautsprechern aufbauen Sie können an das Soundfield System bis zu 8 Lautsprecher anschließen indem Sie an jeden Lautsprecherausgang zwei Lautsprecher anschließen: Mit dem Soundfield System soll ein möglichst gleichmäßiges Schallfeld erzeugt werden. Stellen Sie daher die Lautsprecher so auf, dass zwei Lautsprecher nicht genau gegenüber angebracht sind und sich gegenseitig „anschauen“.
Lautsprecher anschließen Bei einem System mit bis zu 8 Lautsprechern muss die Impedanz der einzelnen Lautsprecher zwischen 4 und 8 Ohm liegen. Die Impulsspitzenleistung muss mindestens 30 W betragen. Die Lautsprecherkabel dürfen Sie nicht mit Masse verbinden.
Aufnahmegeräte anschließen Über die beiden Cinch-Buchsen (LINE OUT) können Sie Aufnahmegeräte (z. B. Kassettenrekorder, Diktiergerät usw.) an den Verstärker anschließen. Das angeschlossene Gerät nimmt das gleiche Signal auf, das auch die Lautsprecher im Raum wiedergeben. Schließen Sie das Aufnahmegerät nach Möglichkeit über seinen Line-Eingang (LINE IN, REC. IN, AUX IN, TB IN o. Ä.) an.
System mit mehreren Sendern aufbauen (Team-Teaching) Es ist möglich, dass bis zu 3 Sprecher gleichzeitig in einem Raum über das gleiche Soundfield System übertragen werden. Der Sender 1 wird direkt vom Empfangsteil des Verstärkers empfangen. Für die Sender 2 und 3 benötigen Sie je einen zusätzlichen Empfänger. Diese können Sie über die Cinch-Buchsen des Line-Eingangs an den Verstärker anschließen. Die Signale aller Sender sind dann über die Lautsprecher hörbar.
Empfindlichkeit des Systems auf angeschlossene Empfänger einstellen 씰 Drehen Sie den Regler für den Pegel des Line-Eingangs (LINE IN) auf den rechten Endanschlag. 씰 Stellen Sie am Empfänger EM 500 den Ausgangspegel so ein, wie es in der Bedienungsanleitung des Empfängers beschrieben ist. Empfehlungen und Tipps ... für das Headset-Mikrofon ME 3 Setzen Sie das Mikrofon immer mit Poppschutz ein und platzieren Sie es am Mundwinkel. Durch den Abstand zum Mund können Sie die Tiefenwiedergabe variieren. Achten Sie darauf, dass die Einsprache zum Mund hin ausgerichtet ist. 8 Spezielle Einstellungen Grundfunktionen des Sennheiser-Bedienmenüs Beim Soundfield System können Sie an Sender und Empfangsteil alle Einstellungen über die drei Tasten SET, , vornehmen. Im jeweiligen Display können Sie die Einstellungen verfolgen. Wichtig: Nach dem Einschalten können Sie mit den Tasten / zwischen den voreingestellten Festspeicherplätzen umschalten. Die Anzeige blinkt. Die Änderung wird sofort wirksam. Drücken Sie die Taste SET, um Ihre Eingabe zu bestätigen. Das Blinken hört auf. 1.
SenSit Empfindlichkeit einstellen (nur Sender) Ist die Mikrofonempfindlichkeit falsch eingestellt, kann die Stimme des Sprechers verzerrt oder verrauscht klingen. Verzerrungen treten auf, wenn die Mikrofonempfindlichkeit zu hoch eingestellt ist. Gleichzeitig leuchtet beim Sender die gelbe Peak-LED . Ist die Empfindlichkeit zu niedrig eingestellt, klingt die Stimme verrauscht. Sie müssen daher die Empfindlichkeit so einstellen, dass nur bei den lautesten Passagen die gelbe Audio-Peak-LED aufleuchtet.
SqELCH Rauschsperrenschwelle einstellen (nur Empfangsteil) Der Empfangsteil des Soundfield Systems EMP 2015 ist mit einer einstellbaren Rauschsperrenschwelle ausgestattet, die verhindert, dass der Empfangsteil aufrauscht, wenn der Sender ausgeschaltet wird oder den Empfangsbereich verlässt. 씰 Um die Rauschsperrenschwelle einzustellen, müssen Sie mit der Taste SET den Menüpunkt „SqELCH“ anwählen.
Festspeicherplätze programmieren Sender und Empfangsteil des Soundfield Systems haben je 16 Festspeicherplätze. Im Sender und Empfangsteil sind im Auslieferungszustand auf den 16 Festspeicherplätzen die Frequenzen so voreingestellt, dass sie sich gegenseitig nicht stören. Sie könnten damit in einem Raum 16 Übertragungsstrecken gleichzeitig benutzen.
Ch no 3. Kanalnummer einstellen Weisen Sie nun dem Festspeicherplatz eine Kanalnummer zu. Sie darf zwischen 0 und 255 liegen. Wenn Sie mehrere Soundfield Systeme in benachbarten Klassenräumen betreiben, können Sie einer Gruppe von Sendern und Empfängern die Kanalnummern 1 bis 16 und einer anderen Gruppe die Kanalnummern 17 bis 32 usw. zuordnen. Im Auslieferungszustand haben die 16 Festspeicherplätze die Kanalnummern 01 bis 16. 씰 Drücken Sie die Taste SET viermal, um den Menüpunkt „Ch no“ anzuwählen.
Loc Bedienung sperren Nachdem Sie alle Einstellungen beendet haben, können Sie an Sender und Empfangsteil die Tastatur gegen unbeabsichtigtes Betätigen sperren. Sperre einschalten 씰 Drücken Sie die Taste SET fünfmal, um den Menüpunkt „Loc“ anzuwählen. Die aktuelle Einstellung wird angezeigt. 씰 Drücken Sie die Taste , um die Eingabe zu sperren. Im Display blinkt die Anzeige „Loc on“. 씰 Drücken Sie die Taste SET, um an den Menüanfang zurückzukehren.
Soundfield System akustisch an den Raum anpassen Wenn Sie das Soundfield System in einem Raum erstmalig in Betrieb nehmen, sollten Sie es akustisch an den Raum anpassen. 씰 Nehmen Sie den Taschensender und das Mikrofon in Betrieb. 씰 Drehen Sie am Verstärker die beiden Lautstärkesteller für Wiedergabegeräte und das Mikrofon auf die Position ‚0‘ zurück. 씰 Schalten Sie den Verstärker ein.
9 Pflege und Wartung Reinigen Sie die Komponenten des Soundfield Systems von Zeit zu Zeit mit einem feuchten Tuch. Verwenden Sie keine Lösemittel oder lösemittelhaltige Reinigungsmittel, da sie die Oberflächen der Komponenten angreifen können. Poppschutz austauschen Zeigt der Poppschutz Risse oder Löcher, müssen Sie ihn austauschen. Ziehen Sie dazu den Poppschutz vom Mikrofon ab und ersetzen Sie ihn durch einen neuen.

2 Area of application The EMP 2015 Soundfield System is a matched combination of a bodypack transmitter, a microphone and a receiver with an integrated power amplifier. The use of advanced PLL and microprocessor technology combined with the HDX noise reduction system and the latest amplifier technolgy ensure extremely reliable transmission and excellent sound quality. An extensive range of accessories enable the Soundfield System to be adapted to a wide variety of applications.
3 Cautions and advisories Never open electronic devices! This must only be done by authorized personnel and is all the more important for devices connected to AC outlets. If devices are opened by customers in breach of this instruction, the warranty becomes null and void. Always disconnect the devices from the mains by removing the plug when you wish to change connections or move the devices to a different place. Keep the devices away from central heating radiators and electric heaters.
5 Components of the Soundfield System EMP 2015 receiver/amplifier combination The heart of the Soundfield System is the EMP 2015 receiver with an integrated power amplifier to which you can connect additional audio and sound recording devices as well as FM systems for persons with impaired hearing.
SK 500 bodypack transmitter The bodypack transmitter transmits the signals of the connected microphone to the receiver section of the EMP 2015. 6 Getting ready EMP 2015 receiver/amplifier combination Setting up the EMP 2015 The EMP 2015 is equipped with a temperature-controlled ventilation system. To ensure sufficient ventilation, please make sure that the ventilation apertures at the side panels are not covered. An integrated temperature monitoring device protects the EMP 2015 against overheating by turning it off if the temperature rises above a certain value. After sufficient cooling, the EMP 2015 is automatically turned on again.
Connecting the antenna 씰 Screw the antenna onto the antenna socket (M3 connection). Connecting the microphone " $ 씰 Connect the 3.5 mm jack plug " from the microphone cable to the jack socket (MIC/LINE) . 씰 Lock the jack plug by screwing down the locking ring $. Attaching the transmitter to clothing The SK 500 transmitter is best attached to e.g. the belt with clip %. The clip is detachable so that you can also attach the transmitter with the antenna pointing downwards.
Installing the basic system The basic system consists of the EMP 2015 receiver/amplifier combination, the SK 500 bodypack transmitter, a microphone and loudspeakers: Installing the loudspeakers The Soundfield System should generate a uniform sound field in the entire room. The speaker’s voice should not be reproduced louder than normal but should be heard at the same level everywhere in the room. To generate a uniform sound field, you require at least several loudspeakers for wall or ceiling mounting.
Connecting the loudspeakers The EMP 2015 has four independent power amplifiers. Therefore, you can connect up to eight loudspeakers to the EMP 2015 Soundfield System. When installing a system with up to eight loudspeakers, make sure that the individual loudspeakers have an impedance from 4 to 8 ohms. The peak pulse power must be 30 W minimum. When using more than one loudspeaker, make sure that the individual loudspeakers have the same polarity (+/–).
Turning the system components on and off Turning the amplifier on/off The amplifier is fitted with both a mains switch and an operating switch . Via the mains switch, the amplifier can be disconnected from the mains (position “0”). The mains switch can always remain set to “I”. 씰 When putting the system into operation, turn the amplifer on by setting the mains switch to “I”. The mains switch can then remain set to “I”.
Operation Transmitter and receiver section of the Soundfield System have been factorypreset to allow immediate use after system installation and turn-on. For excellent speech intelligibility, however, make sure that the transmitter sensitivity is adjusted correctly ( “Adjusting the sensitivity”). Buttons SET Press the SET button – to select a menu, – to change to the next menu, – to return to the top menu level. Press the UP button – to adjust the setting of a menu.
Battery status indication The red LED and the 8-segment bargraph on the display provide information on the battery status. Bargraph: The bargraph indicates the (remaining) battery capacity in 3 steps: 8 segments: the full battery capacity is available, 4 segments: the battery capacity is sufficient, 1 segment: the battery is going flat, immediately replace the battery.
Connecting external audio devices You can connect two mono or two stereo audio devices to the amplifier. 씰 Connect the RCA plugs of the sound recording devices to the RCA sockets (LINE IN) at the rear of the EMP 2015. For correct connection of the different audio devices, please refer to the diagrams at the left. Note: Stereo (left-right) signals are mixed in the amplifier and are then available as a mono signal. 2 mono audio devices 씰 If possible, set stereo audio devices to “mono” operation.
Connecting FM systems for persons with impaired hearing You can connect an FM transmitter of an FM system of any manufacturer to each of the two line outputs (LINE OUT) . The FM transmitter transmits the signals of one or several speakers and, if connected, an audio device to the FM receiver of the hearing impaired. As a result, the speaker doesn’t have to wear several transmitters and microphones but only the transmitter and the microphone of the Soundfield System.
7 Special applications Installing a system with up to eight loudspeakers By connecting two loudspeakers to each loudspeaker output, you can connect up to eight loudspeakers to the Soundfield System: The Soundfield System should generate a uniform sound field in the entire room. Therefore, install the loudspeakers so that two loudspeakers are not exactly facing each other. This can lead to cancellations, resulting in a nonuniform sound field.
Connecting the loudspeakers When installing a system with up to eight loudspeakers, make sure that the individual loudspeakers have an impedance from 4 to 8 ohms. The peak pulse power must be 30 W minimum. When using more than one loudspeaker, make sure that the individual loudspeakers have the same polarity (+/–). Danger of short circuit! Never connect the loudspeaker cables to the ground and never allow the cables to come into contact with another cable or metal casing parts.
Connecting sound recording devices You can connect sound recording devices (e.g. tape recorder, dictating machine, etc.) to the RCA sockets (LINE OUT) of the amplifer. The connected device records the same signal that can be heard in the room through the loudspeakers. If possible, connect the sound recording device via its line input (LINE IN, REC. IN, AUX IN, TB IN or similar).
Installing a system including several transmitters (team teaching) With one Soundfield System, up to three speakers can speak simultaneously in the same room. Transmitter 1 is directly received by the receiver section of the EMP 2015. Transmitters 2 and 3 require an additional receiver respectively. The receivers can be connected to the RCA sockets (LINE IN) of the EMP 2015. The signals of all transmitters are then reproduced by the loudspeakers.
Adapting the system sensitvity to the connected receivers 씰 Turn the line input sensitivity control (LINE IN) possible. 씰 Adjust the output level on the EM 500 receiver as described in the receiver’s instruction manual. clockwise as far as Installing a system including two transmitters and an audio device You can also connect an additional receiver and an external audio device (e.g. VCR) to the two line inputs (LINE IN) of the EMP 2015.

8 Special adjustments Basic functions of the Sennheiser operating menu With the Soundfield System, all necessary adjustments to the transmitter and receiver section settings can be made by using the SET and and buttons. The settings are indicated on the respective displays. Important: After turn-on, press the / buttons to switch between the factorypreset fixed frequency memories. The display starts flashing. Your selection becomes effective immediately.
SenSit Adjusting the sensitvity (transmitter only) If the microphone sensitivity is not adjusted correctly, the speaker’s voice can sound distorted or noisy. Distortion occurs if the microphone sensitivity is adjusted too high. In this case, the transmitter’s yellow audio peak indication LED lights up . If, on the other hand, the sensitivity is adjusted too low, the teacher’s voice will be overlaid with background noise.
SqELCH Adjusting the squelch threshold (receiver section only) The amplifier’s receiver section is equipped with an adjustable squelch which eliminates annoying noise when the transmitter is turned off. It also suppresses sudden noise when the transmitter leaves the reception area. 씰 Press the SET button to select the “SqELCH” menu. “SqELCH” appears on the display; after a short pause the current squelch setting is indicated. 씰 With the / buttons you can now select a different setting.
Configuring a frequency memory Transmitter and receiver section of the Soundfield System have 16 switchable frequency memories respectively to store up to 16 transmission and receiving frequencies. The 16 factory-preset transmission/receiving frequencies are all intermodulation-free, i.e. you could operate up to 16 transmission links simultaneously in the same room.
Ch no 3. Assign a channel number You now have to assign the frequency memory a channel number (from 0 to 255). If you use several Soundfield Systems in neighboring rooms, you can assign channel numbers 1 – 16 to one group of transmitters and receivers and channel numbers 17 – 32 to the next group, etc. The 16 fixed frequency memories are factory-preset to channel numbers 01 – 16. 씰 Press the SET button four times to select the “Ch no” menu.
Loc Activating/deactivating the lock mode After you have finished your entries, you can lock the buttons on the transmitter and the receiver section to prevent accidental programming or turning off during operation. 9 Care and maintenance The components of the Soundfield System should be cleaned from time to time. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Do not use solvents or solvent-containing cleansing agents as these could damage the surface of the components. Replacing the windscreen If the windscreen shows signs of wear such as tears or holes, replace the windscreen. To do so, pull the old windscreen from the microphone and gently slide on the new one.
