Settings and Profiles

To edit an access point
1. Use the joypad to scroll to the access point to be
edited.
2. Press Select , or press Options g and select
Edit.
3. Change the fields required, and press Back d
when you have finished.

To delete an access point
1. Use the joypad to scroll to the access point to be
deleted.
2. Press Options g and select Delete. You will be
prompted whether you want to delete the access
point. Press Yes g.
GPRS
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a fast and
efficient way of transmitting data over the mobile
network.
z Note: You need to subscribe to the GPRS
service, and may be charged for using this
service. Contact your service provider for more
information.
Select GPRS from the Connection settings list to
display the following settings:
• GPRS connection - Select When available to
transmit data via the GPRS network wherever
possible, or When necessary to only use GPRS
when it is required.
•Access point - The name of the access point is
required when you are using your phone as a
packet data modem to your personal computer.
See Modem on Page 145 for further information
about using your phone as a modem.
Data call
The data call settings affect all access points using a
GSM or high speed GSM data connection.
Select Data Call from the Connection settings list to
display the following setting:
•Online time - Select User defined to set a period
of time in minutes after which a data connection
will be disconnected if no keys are pressed.
Alternatively, select Unlimited if you do not want
the data call to disconnect in this way.
Date and time settings
Use the date and time settings to change the time
and date, as well as changing the format in which
time and date information is displayed.
You can also select to have the date and time
updated automatically.
Use PPP
compression
(GSM only). If you select Yes, this may
speed up data transfer. Contact your
service provider for more details.
Use login script (GSM only). Select Yes if you want to use a
login script.
Login script (GSM only). Enter a login script.
Modem
initialisation
(GSM only). Controls your phone using
modem AT (attention) commands. Contact
your service provider for more
information.
