BEFORE FIRST USE
1. Remove all wrapping material from the kettle and its power base A4. Discard any plastic bags to
eliminate the suffocation hazard to young children.
2. Fill the kettle with cold water up to the maximum water level mark A5 (40fl.oz / 5 cups / 1.2L). Boil
the water and discard it. Repeat this process 2 to 3 times.
Note:
To boil water in the kettle, follow the instructions in the chapter “Using the Kettle”.
3. Now the kettle is ready to use.
USING THE KETTLE
1. Set the power cord to the desired length. Push the power cord into the groove in the power base
A4. Place the power base A4 on a clean, stable, even surface.
2. Fill the kettle with the amount of cold water needed. The kettle must be filled with at least
17fl.oz / 2 cups / 0.5L of fresh water and must not be filled above the maximum water level mark
A5 (40fl.oz / 5 cups / 1.2L) on the steam tube inside the kettle. You may fill the kettle through
the spout A3 or through the opening after lifting the lid A2. After filling the kettle with water,
close the lid A2. Make sure the lid A2 is closed firmly.
Warning!
Do not fill the kettle while it is on the power base A4.
If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may splash and scalding may occur.
3. Place the kettle on the power base A4. Insert the plug into an electrical socket. Check that the lid
A2 is closed firmly.
4. Start the kettle by moving power switch A6 to “ON”.
Attention:
Do not turn the kettle on if it is empty. Using the kettle incorrectly may shorten its service life.
If you accidentally turn the kettle on with insufficient water or no water, the thermostat will
interrupt the electrical circuit when a certain temperature is reached. The kettle can be used
again after several minutes, as soon as its stainless-steel bottom has cooled down.
5. As soon as water boils, the kettle turns off automatically. Before taking the kettle off the power
base A4, make sure it has automatically turned itself off. If the kettle has not turned itself off
automatically, turn it off manually by moving the power switch A6 to “OFF”.
Note:
The operation of the kettle can be stopped at any time by turning the power switch “OFF”.
6. Pour the boiling water into a prepared container, cup or mug. Be sure to carry the kettle upright,
especially when it is filled to the maximum mark.
If you wish to open the lid A2 to refill the kettle, first empty the kettle completely, so that you are
not scalded by escaping steam.
7. After you finish using the kettle, unplug it from the electrical socket. Empty the kettle and allow it
to cool down.
