Selectable Polar Pattern Switch
Cardioid
When the cardioid pattern is selected (
), the microphone will pick up sound from
the front and reject sound from the back of the microphone� This can be used for
most frontal recording applications such as singing or guitar playing�

When in the figure 8 pattern (
), the microphone will pick up sound from the front and back of the
microphone� Any noise from the sides will be rejected� This is great for two-person interviews with the
microphone in between them, or MS (mid-side) stereo recording techniques such as drum overheads�
Omni
When in the Omni pattern (
), the microphone will pick up sound from all
around� This is a preferred setting for high-quality ambience sound miking, or
far-field recording in high-quality large and small recording rooms�
