Hardware Setup
The SPSPRDR1-8 requires three hardware connections to
be made in the following order:
• Connect at least one antenna to one of the RF ports
on the SPSPRDR1-8 reader
• Connect an Ethernet cable from the SPSPRDR1-8
to the host computer that will be running the
application software
• Plug in a power supply suitable for the
SPSPRDR1-8
Note: please refer to SPS tag datasheets to verify optimal
positioning to achieve best results.
TagReader Software Setup
If not already installed, install the Tag Reader application
and Bojour Print Services (available from Apple Computer)
onto the host computer. After the reader is powered on,
open the TagReader application and wait for the reader to
be automatically detected. The TagReader screen will then
be shown as seen in figure 2.
Check the box or boxes next to the antenna ports that you
wish to use, set the region using the pull-down menu, and
change any of the other settings as necessary. Click the
Read button at the top of the screen to begin reading tags.
The tag information read will be displayed on the Tags tab,
as shown in figure 3.
