Dirt from originals and other foreign matter may adhere to the original scanning
area. Clean this area regularly.
Note

Never use volatile solvents such as thinner, benzene, or alcohol.

Cleaning the Shading Guide and Scanner Glass
Set the stopper before cleaning the original scanning area.
Wipe the shading guide and scanner glass with a dry cloth.
If they are significantly dirty, soak a soft cloth in water or a neutral detergent
diluted with water, wring the cloth thoroughly, and then wipe them.
