5. works and installation
5.1. installation methods
The recommended mounting options for this radar module include horizontal,
tilt and overhead mounting.
(When the fall function is required, the installation method can only be
selected for overhead mounting, and the installation is only suitable for
slippery areas such as kitchens and bathrooms where there is a risk of
falling.)
5.1.1. top-mounted installation
The installation is shown in Fig. 4 as an overhead installation. This
installation is mainly aimed at areas that may be slippery and have a risk of
falling (e.g. bathrooms, kitchens, etc.) and at monitoring the human body
when lying down (e.g. bedrooms, retirement homes, hospital beds, etc.).
The radar is installed vertically with a horizontal deviation angle of ≤ 3° to
ensure that the main radar beam covers the detection area; the
recommended radar installation height is ≤ 2.75 m; there are no obvious
obstructions or coverings in front of the radar.
Due to the radar installation height and the radar beam range, the maximum
distance for moving body detection in this installation mode is L3 ≈ 6.5 m;
the maximum distance for body sitting/movement detection is L2 ≈ 3 m and
the maximum distance for body sleep detection is L1 ≈ 1.8 m.
The maximum distance for human fall detection is L4 ≈ 1.5 m due to the
radar mounting height, radar beam range and fall-related model calculation
logic.
