7.3.4 GROUNDSPEEDCALIBRATION
Allnewsystemsrequireagroundspeedcalibrationtoensureaccurateareatotalsandaccurate
groundspeedreadings.
NOTE:Duringthecalibrationthemonitoriscounting
the number of pulses produced from the drill
mountedsensor.Themonitorwilldisplaythepulses
counted in 400 feet. Choosing this item will allow
youtocalibratethegroundspeedsensortoaknown
distance. The default distance is 400 feet (122
meters)butthiscanbesetbytheuser.Toperforma
groundspeedcalibration,determinethedistance to
beusedandmeasureoutacourse.
Procedure:
1. To complete the calibration, measure a course
400 feet (122 meters) long preferably on level
ground with a start and finish point.Line up
tractoratthe StartPoint.Thedrill mustbein the
downpositionthroughout theprocedure.
2. On the monitor, verify that the calibration
length is 400 feet (122 meters).If not, please
changesothatitreads400feet(122meters).
3.Once400feet(122meters)isselected,highlightandselectContinue.
4. The monitor now displays “Start Driving” and
shows a Wheel Pulses Received window.You
should see this number increase as
you drive the
400foot(122meter)course.
5. Once at the end of the 400 foot (122 meter)
course, stop the tractor, highlight the complete
buttonandpressEnter.
6.YourGroundSpeedisnowcalibrated.
