3.7 Network Setup
Please be sure your DVR is connected to your router or modem with the supplied RJ45
type patch cable before proceeding.
Before using your DVR on a network, there are three things that you should know
about the type of connection you are using.
Item 1Do you have a Static or Dynamic IP address from your ISP (Internet Service
Provider)? A Static IP address does not change, it is provided by your ISP for a minimal
extra charge.
Item 2Are you installing the DVR on a LAN connection (behind a router) or on a WAN
(Internet) connection (direct to modem)?
Item 3Is your internet service Cable or DSL?
