If you are using a Network Share or Local Storage (recommended, see below), it is
generally best to set this to 8 Megabytes.
Otherwise, start with a small cache (8 Megabytes or 16 Megabytes) and gradually
increase it until you find a safe upper limit where the SnapGear unit can still operate
reliably.
Storage
The web cache is capable of utilizing a storage device attached via the USB port, or a
network share to provide backing store for the cache. Using this greatly increases the
effectiveness of the cache.
Local storage
Note
Network Storage share and Local Storage cannot be used at the same time. Enabling
one will automatically disable the other.
Attach a USB storage device, click Storage then Local Storage.
Enter a Cache size in MB. This is the maximum amount of space the web cache will use
on the storage device.
Note
The size of this cache should be at least as big as the Cache size on the Main tab and
not more than 90% of the total size of the storage area.
Select the Device or partition on the device, and then click Submit.
