Alarm Procedures
1. If the Exit System is in alarm:
Identify the location of the alarm shown on display computer monitor or the nurse station.
Follow the hospital Policy and Procedure.
2. If one or more cutband zones are in alarm with an infant’s name and room number:
Go to the area of the alarm condition and locate the baby.
Follow the hospital Policy and Procedures.
3. If the transmitter has not been cut off the infant or the strap looks intact:
Verify that the transmitter strap is not too tight on the infant
Excess strap has been removed.
4. If the transmitter passes the visual test and the system is still reporting a cutband alarm:
Remove the transmitter by cutting the strap.
Replace the strap on the transmitter and re-apply the transmitter to the infant.
Verify that the alarm has been silenced.
If the transmitter is still in alarm,
Put the transmitter to sleep and remove it from infant.
Replace the transmitter with a different one and verify the alarm is clear.
Store the old transmitter in a storage box for later testing.
