Data Distributor

The ENFORCER RS-485 Data Distributors transmits a single RS-485 or RS-232 to input to four

(4) RS-485 outputs. The Data Distributor can be used with any RS-485 controlled camera, and can

control up to 64 RS-485 controlled cameras by using multiple units in a daisy-chain (home-run)

configuration.

Range: Up to 4,000’ (1,200m)

Connect up to 64 RS-485 cameras or devices

ENFORCER Data Distributor Installation (5-64 Cameras): 1. Mount and install distributor #1 where the inputs and outputs can be easily accessed. 2. Connect a PTZ controller using either the RS-232 plug or the RS-485 input terminal block on distributor #1. 3. Plug the first 3 RS-485 cameras you wish to control into the RS-485 output terminal blocks. 4. Using the unused RS-485 output on Distributor #1, connect to the RS-485 input on distributor #2. 5.

ENFORCER Data Distributor Troubleshooting: Data Distributor does not function correctly • Make sure the power, input and output wires are connected firmly to the distributor. • Make sure the data input device is turned on. • Make sure the RS-485 controlled cameras are turned on. • Test the wiring between the data input device and the distributor to make sure it is functional. • Test the wiring between the RS-485 controlled cameras and the distributor to make sure it is functional.
