Sound velocity measurement
90
Step Description
9
Specify the pipe length from position 1 to 2 and from position 2 to 3.
For that, tap the input field between the relevant sensors. A numeric keypad is
displayed. Enter the pipe section length and confirm with ENTER.
Result: The sound velocity in the pipe is calculated immediately and displayed at
the top of the screen (here: 1277 m/s).
The upper diagram shows the correlation between position 1 and 2.
The lower diagram shows the correlation between position 2 and 3.
Next to the chart, you can read the distance from the respective measuring point
to the source of noise.
You have the option to replace one of the three sensors and repeat the
calculation.
Tap the sensor to be replaced. In the next menu, tap the required new
sensor, then tap OK. The sound velocity will be re-calculated and
displayed.
The next section offers an example.
10 Use the Accept button to accept the velocity value displayed as a pipe parameter
for the pipe section in question.
The correlation results are automatically updated in the background.
The display returns to the previous menu.
Use the Cancel button to cancel the velocity measurement and return to the
previous menu.
