Sound velocity measurement

If the source of noise is outside the measuring section, the measuring points and
sound source must be arranged as shown on the following picture.
Proceed as follows:
Step Description

Position the Power Transmitters at both measuring points, attach the sensors
(Microphone / Hydrophone) to the pipe and switch the Power Transmitter on.
There must be radio contact between the Power transmitters and the Correlator.
(The two battery symbols in the Correlator’s Start screen can be seen. These
must show the battery level of the Power Transmitter. Question marks are shown
if the Power transmitters are not available.)

Make sure the required sound source does exist.

In the Correlator's Start menu, use the two arrow buttons to choose the required
Online measuring mode (e.g. "COR PT-3 with microphone").

In the main menu, tap the button .
5 In the displayed menu, tap the Tools button.
6 In the displayed menu, tap the Velocity measurement button.
Result: The corresponding menu opens.

Specify whether the source of noise is inside or outside the measuring section.
Tap the appropriate button:
Leak outside sensors Leak between sensors

Specify the length of the measuring
section. Tap the Distance between
sensors button.
Specify the length of the measuring
section. Tap the Distance between
sensors button.

Specify the distance from the first
measuring point to the sound source.
Tap the Distance from left sensor
button.
