Select Antenna to receive analog broadcast channels using an antenna connected
to the TUNER inputs.
Select Cable to receive analog cable channels using a cable connected to the
TUNER inputs.
Region
United States is preselected.
Closed Caption Background
Select Opaque for a solid background or Transparent for a see-through back-
ground for the closed-caption display area.
Channel
Not all channels have active signals. To limit the HDTV monitor's internal channel list
to channels with active signals of interest:
1. Acquire all active channels. See "Autoset", below.
2. Remove channels of no interest, See "Edit Channels" below.
The result is an an internal list of valid channels which is used by the CHAN + and
CHAN - keys and the Snapshot Scan List, below.
Snapshot Scan List
The Snapshot Scan List limits the channels available to select in the snapshot win-
dows in POP and Grid layouts.
Select All, Valid, or Favorites.
All allows the snapshot window to access any channels.
Valid limits the channels that can be selected in snapshot windows to channels that
have been added using Edit Channels, or to channels that have been acquired
using Autoset and added or removed using Edit Channels.
Favorites limits the channels that can be selected in snapshot windows to channels
that have been memorized into the Favorites list (see "Edit Favorites" below).
Acquire Channel Names
Select to acquire channel information from the broadcast or cable TV signal. This
typically adds station callsigns or network designations to the label, which is infor-
mation displayed below the channel number. Not all stations provide this informa-
tion in their signal. This can be edited. See "Edit Labels" on page 51.
Autoset
Navigate to Autoset and press Select to have the HDTV monitor automatically
memorize a list of all active channels. The CHAN + and CHAN - keys use this list to
skip over inactive channels.
This list can be modified using "Edit Channels," below.
Edit Channels
1. Select the channel using the CHAN + and CHAN -- keys.
2. Navigate to Add and press SELECT once to add the current channel.
3. Navigate to Remove and press SELECT once to remove the current channel.
Edit Favorites
Favorites, or favorite channels, are accessed using the Jump key on the remote con-
trol. See "Jump (Favorites)" on page 34.
