Separate, powered subwoofer
A separate, powered subwoofer may be used with the HDTV monitor's built-in audio
system for extended low-frequency audio range. A powered subwoofer can provide
an improved home-theater experience without a complete separate audio system.
Once the subwoofer is installed and adjusted, the HDTV monitor volume control
simultaneously adjusts both the built-in audio and subwoofer volume.
Connect the HDTV monitor's AUDIO OUT: SUBWOOFER OUT connector to the
line-level input on a separate, powered (amplified) subwoofer using an RCA audio
cable, as shown in Figure 8. Consult the instruction manual for your powered sub-
woofer to locate its line-level input.

• Do not turn on the subwoofer until requested.
1. Turn on the HDTV monitor and wait for it to start up.
2. Press the menu key to display the on-screen menu and navigate to: Audio, Sub-
woofer. Select On for a variable output to the subwoofer.
3. Lower the manual volume control on the subwoofer.
4. Turn on the subwoofer.
5. Adjust the HDTV volume control for comfortable listening.
6. Adjust the manual volume control on the subwoofer to match the volume level of
the HDTV's built-in audio system.
The HDTV volume control adjusts both the HDTV built-in audio system and the sub-
woofer.
