AUDIO OUTPUTS
The 6501MA HDTV monitor includes its own built-in audio system and has audio out-
put connections for use with a separate audio or home-theater sound system.
The 6501MA HDTV monitor's built-in audio system includes a subwoofer output con-
nection that may be used to connect a separate, powered (amplified) subwoofer.
L/R (Left/Right Audio Output)
Use With
• Audio system or AV system receiver
• Audio system or AV system amplifier
The L (left) and R (right) audio output connectors provide audio signals for connection
to a separate audio or home-theater sound system. They can be configured for stan-
dard, fixed line-level output, variable output, or turned off.
Connect • Connect the HDTV monitor's AUDIO OUT: L and R connectors to the line-level
inputs on a separate audio amplifier or receiver, using a stereo RCA audio cable.
• Consult the instruction manual for your audio amplifier or receiver to locate its line-
level inputs.
The subwoofer connector is not normally used with a separate audio or home theater
sound system. (See "SUBWOOFER OUT" on page 21 .)

• Turn on the HDTV monitor and wait for it to start up.
• Press the menu key to display the on-screen menu and navigate to: Audio, Audio
Output. Select Fix or Variable as needed for the connected audio system; or select
Off to disable the outputs. You may activate them at any time using the on-screen
menu.
• When using a separate audio or home-theater sound system, use the HDTV volume
controls to lower the volume of the built-in audio system.
The volume level is then controlled directly by the separate audio or home-theater
sound system.
