of all flashings, metal joints, seams, coping, vent
pipes, skylights, chimneys, breaks in roofing,
bonded roof shingles, foundations, parapet walls,
gutters, concrete, & SBS roof systems. This product
is ideally suited for sealing cracks, holes, and tears
in built-up roofs and modified bitumen single plys.
Dries Black.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces to be treated must be free from
oil, grease and other foreign materials prior to
application. The surface must be firm and free from
loose material. On composition roofs, open any
breaks or blisters to be patched and permit to dry
out before applying this product. Allow at least
24 hours to dry (32 ºF or higher and less than 50%
humidity with no rain) before applying a surface
coating.
10 & 29 oz. Tube - Trim Nozzle to desired bead
size. Puncture foil at innerbase of nozzle. Using a
caulking gun, apply to a minimum wet thickness of
1/4”. Allow at least 24 hours to dry (32 ºF or higher
and less than 50% humidity with no rain) before
applying a surface coating. Use above or below
grade.
Roof Cement - Using a trowel, spread Roof Cement
onto the surface at a thickness of about 1/8”,
making sure to smooth down the edges. Mend
cracks, splits or blisters by troweling the cement to
the affected area and three inches beyond. Embed
SealBest Reinforcing Fabric into the repaired
area and topcoat with another layer of roof patch
material.
Rolled Roofing - Apply Roof Cement with a
roofer’s brush or a masonry trowel in a uniform
consistency. Apply a sufficient amount of adhesive
to cover the entire underside of the membrane
and to allow a 1/8” - 1/4” bead of adhesive to form
along the lap seam when membrane is pressed
into place. Broom or walk the overlying sheet
firmly into the cement and smooth it out to prevent
buckles or blisters.
Drying Time
Roof Cement - Dry to touch in 8 hours, depending
upon weather conditions. Remains soft and pliable.
Rolled Roofing - Allow 24 hours depending on
weather conditions.
Clean Up
Clean up with waterless hand cleaner immediately
after use. Clean tools with mineral spirits or
kerosene in a well ventilated area immediately
after use.
Weather Conditions
Do not apply if rain is imminent or forecast within
24 hours of application.
