Installing Backup

Exec software

We recommend that you install Backup Exec software

e you install your tape drive. This section de-

scribes how to install Backup Exec for Windows 95,

Windows 98, and Windows NT Workstation.

Place the Backup Exec CD in your CD-ROM.

If your operating system is configured for autoplay, the

setup program will run automatically. If not, from

the Start menu, select Run. Then type

:\setup:\setup

:\setup,

where

is the drive letter for your CD-ROM, and

press

ENTER

. Follow the online instructions.

After the software installation is complete, restart

Windows. This allows the operating system to

recognize your new software.

After you restart Windows, shut down your computer,

turn off the power, and remove the cover. Be sure to

observe the static-discharge precautions listed on

page 7 of this manual.
