After you install Backup Exec and your new tape drive,
but
before you try to backup your data , you should
make sure that your computer and backup software
can recognize your new drive.
Launch Backup Exec. Look down the list of target
drives in the “Where to back up” menu box, as shown
in the figure at left.
• If your tape drive is listed in this drop-down list, then
Backup Exec has recognized your new drive.

software cannot find the drive. See the Trouble-
shooting section on page 27.
