2.3 System configurations
Seagate recommends using the ATA interface in one of the following
configurations:
• If the system motherboard has its own ATA connector, then you can
connect the drive interface cable directly to the system motherboard,
as shown in Figure 6.
• If the system does not have a built-in ATA connector, then attach the
interface cable to a Seagate ST07A or ST08A host adapter installed
in a system expansion slot. This configuration is shown in Figure 7.
