2.3 System configurations
Seagate recommends using the ATA interface in one of the following
configurations:
If the system motherboard has its own ATA connector, then you can
connect the drive interface cable directly to the system motherboard,
as shown in Figure 6.
If the system does not have a built-in ATA connector, then attach the
interface cable to a Seagate ST07A or ST08A host adapter installed
in a system expansion slot. This configuration is shown in Figure 7.
