A QuickWord About the Freseners
Scott andPat started in screen printing in 1970 when they began a small garment printing busi-
nessout of their garage. Thisbusiness grew to be a largecompanywith automatic equipment
and gave theFreseners experience in bothtechnical areas and business management. The
lackof standardization andtraining programs prompted the Freseners to write their books and
start giving classes.
Scott Fresener, the Institute’sDirector, hascontributedover 300articles to industry trade maga-
zinesand is a popular guest speaker at major industry trade shows worldwide. Scott has con-
tributed technical articlesto theScreenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association’s Screen
Printing Technical Guidebook and is the past chariman of SGIA’sTextile Graphics Committee.
Heis alsothe past chairman and a lifetime member of the Academy of ScreenPrinting
Technology andfor theyears 2004- 2006is on the Board of Directors of SGIA.
The Fresener’s twoadult children, Mike and Mishelle, are very involved in the business. Mikeis
the company’s jack-of-all-trades and managesvideo production, theScreenPrinters.Net web-
site, company IT issues, and teaches portions of the classes. Mishelle is TechnicalSupport

and handles all travelarrangements for the large outside installation
staff.
The Fresenersand the Institute have receiveddozens of industry awards and are two-time win-
nersof the coveted Magnus Award by theScreenprinting andGraphic Imaging Association for
outstanding serviceto theindustry. They are also two-time winners of ImpressionsMagazine's
Quest for theBest award for the best trainingcourses andbooks inthe industry. In1996, Scott
wasawarded the ParmeleAward by theScreenprinting and Graphic Imaging Association. This
