PREPARATION FOR USE Unpacking And Set Up • Remove the unit from the carton, and remove all packing materials from the unit. • Save the carton and packing materials in case the unit ever needs to be returned for service. Using the original carton and packing materials is the only way to safely repack the unit for shipment. • Remove any descriptive labels or stickers from the top or front of the unit. Do not remove any labels from the back or bottom of the cabinet.

B AT T E R Y I N S T AL L AT I O N Insert 2 ‘AAA’ size alkaline batteries, not included, into the battery compartment of the remote handset, observing the battery polarity and replace the cover. B AT T E R Y R E P L AC E M E N T When the batteries become too weak, the operating distance of the remote handset is greatly reduced and you will need to replace the batteries. NOTES: • To maintain the accuracy and long life of the transmitter, do not press two or more buttons simultaneously.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONNECTION TO ACTIVE SUBWOOFER To enhance high bass, connect the RCA SUB WOOFER jack located at back of unit to your active subwoofer. CONNECTION TO EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER You have a possibility to connect to external Amplifier through RCA LINE OUT jacks located at back of unit. SETTING THE CLOCK Clock can be set while clock time is displayed, at STANDBY mode or CD, TUNER modes.
LISTENING TO RADIO 1.) Press the POWER/STANDBY button to turn the unit ‘On’. 2.) Select the Tuner function by pressing TUNER button. TUN/ SK DN TUN/ SK UP 3.) Select AM or FM band by pressing BAND button. Tune to or the desired station by pressing button. 4.) Adjust the VOLUME to the desired level using the VOLUME UP or DOWN button. 5.) After finished listening, press the POWER/STANDBY button to turn power ‘Off’.

PLAYING COMPACT DISCS LOADING AND UNLOADING COMPACT DISCS 1.) Press the POWER button to turn the unit ‘On’. 2.) Select the CD function by pressing the CD button. POWER CD 3.) Press the the CD Door OPEN/CLOSE button to open the CD compartment. NOTE: The CD door is motorized and will open slowly. Do not touch the CD Door. OPEN/CLOSE 4.) When the disc compartment has opened, insert the disc with the label side facing out. Push down in the center until disc is locked in place. 5.
CAUTION • Do not put anything except a compact disc into the compartment. • Foreign objects can damage the mechanism. • Keep the disc compartment closed when not in use to prevent dirt and dust from entering the mechanism. • Never place more than one disc into the disc compartment at any time. • If the disc is correctly loaded, the total number of tracks on the disc will be displayed. NOTES: After the disc compartment is fully closed, the disc information may not appear on the display.
NOTES: • If the disc is deeply scratched, or too dirty, disc play may not start. • If the disc is inserted incorrectly, or the disc is damaged the “no disc” indicator will flash on display. POP DISC ERRORS • This compact disc player has built-in error compensation circuits to correct for minor defects in a disc. There are limits, however, to the amount of correction available. • In some cases, the CD player may skip some tracks, or parts of tracks, on a disc during disc play.
TRACK SKIP Starting disc play from the beginning of a particular track Press the or Skip Track buttons to select the desired track. The number of the selected track will be shown on the CD display. RANDOM PLAYBACK Press the RANDOM button to play the tracks in random order. The RANDOM indicator appears in the display and random playback will begin in the play position. When all tracks have been played in random order, the player stops and the display shows the total tracks and playing time. Random playback can be selected while a disc is playing or while the player is in the stop mode. To cancel random playback press the RANDOM button until the RANDOM indicator disappears.
PRESET EQUALIZER (EQ) • This unit is equipped with a preset equalizer which has been added to enhance your listening pleasure by altering the frequency response of the music. • Press the Preset EQ button on main unit repeatedly to cycle through the following equalization modes. MUTE • Press the MUTE button on remote control to switch off the sound, the MUTE indicator will illuminate. • Press MUTE again to restore the sound to the previous level. MUTE indicator will extinguish.
AUTOMATIC ON/OFF TIMER (Remote Control Only) This system now features a programmable timer that can turn the system ‘On’and ‘Off’whenever you like. To use the timer function you must first set the desired ‘Timer On’and ‘Timer Off’times, which can be set at Power ‘On’or Standby modes. SETTING THE TIMER ON/OFF TIMES 1.) Press the REMAIN/MODE button repeatedly until the display shows: REMAIN/ MODE AM 3.) Press the MEMORY button. The hour digits will be flashing. MEMORY/ C-ADJ AM / 4.
8.) When the desired ‘turn off’time is on the display press the MEMORY button once more. The display will return to the normal function display. Press the PM TIMER button to turn Timer ‘On’. The ‘TIMER’ indicator appears on display. 9.) Press the appropriate function button to select the function you wish to hear when the unit turns ‘On’(TUNER or CD). Adjust the VOLUME, EQ, AND controls as desired and the press the POWER button to shut the system ‘Off’.
SLEEP TIMER OPERATION (On Remote Control Only) The Sleep Timer function allows you to operate the system for up to 90 minutes and then shuts the power off automatically. 1.) Press POWER button to turn the system ‘On’, and press TUNER or CD to the desired function. 2.) Press the SLEEP button on the remote control handset. The display will show “SLEEP” and “90” for a few seconds. Then the display returns to the normal function display but the SLEEP indicator remain ‘On’.
Wall mounting Instruction: 1.) Use the metal bracket supplied with unit as template to mark anchor hole locations, making sure that holes are leveled. 2.) Drill 3/16" holes. 3.) Insert the plastic anchor supplied with unit through the hole and tap it until it is flush with the wall. 4.) Inset the screw and tighten the screw 1/8" away from the wall. 5.) Place the metal bracket and tighten the screws. 6.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit. Do not attempt any adjustments other than those described in the manual. Refer all other problems to qualified service personnel. Compact Disc Care • To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges. • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc.
Care Of The Cabinet • If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet. • If the front panel becomes dirty or smudged with fingerprints it may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as these will mar the finish of your unit. Caution: Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while cleaning.
