LOCKING REAR DIFFERENTIAL
To help you negotiate uncertain terrain, 4Runner Trail
has an electronically controlled locking rear differential
that distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels,
so they move at the same speed, even if one is off the
ground. It also ensures a predictable output to help you
maintain a controlled pace over obstacles.

you to choose from four modes that
will regulate wheelspin by adjusting
the engine throttle setting and braking
pressure to provide you with maximum
traction on various off-road situations.
