Oven Components and Controls SciGene ovens use a radiant heating system to warm the walls of the stainless steel interior, providing uniform heating of air within the rotator compartment. Operating temperature (ambient + 5 to 99°C) is regulated to ±0.2°C from set point by means of a high performance temperature controller (Watlow EZ-Zone) and a sensitive Resistive Thermal Device (RTD) used as temperature sensor.

Loading and Removing Rotators Place end of shaft on left bearing Insert shaft ball with alignment pin into right bearing All rotators are loaded and removed using the same two-step process. When loading, first insert the end of the shaft that ends in a ball joint with alignment pin into the slotted bearing on the right wall of the chamber. The left end of the shaft is then placed into the bearing on the left side of the chamber.

Checking and Replacing Fuses Fuses are located in a removable fuse block below the power cord receptacle on the back of the unit. Unplug the cord and using a flat blade screwdriver, remove the fuse block as shown in the illustration. Remove the fuse holder from the block and gently remove the two fuses.

Locate the EZ-Zone controller on the front control panel. Push out the tabs on the left and right side and pull it straight out. c. Insert a new controller (SciGene cat. #RP600-0146-07) directly in its place. d. Reconnect the power cord. e. Follow the Calibration Check procedure in Section III. F. 1. f.
