INSTRUCTIONS
INCLUDES:
• 1 Miner’s Pan • 1 Bag of Pay Dirt • 1 Magnifying Glass • 1 Storage Flask • 1 Tweezer • 1 Pipet
• Saturate the pay dirt in your gold pan with plenty of
water. You really want to get everything soaking wet so
that the dirt and rock in your pan begin to break up and
move apart. This lets the gold start sinking to the
bottom.
• Tap the side of the gold pan with your hand occasionally as you’re working
the pay dirt. This will help the heavy matter (Gold!) settle to the bottom of the
pan quicker.
• Use a magnet(not included and not needed, but helps) to remove the mag-
netic material like black sand and magnetite from your pan. Since gold is not
magnetic, a magnet will help you to better separate the other heavy material
from your gold. You can do this when it’s wet, though it’s easier to remove
these magnetic bits when the pay dirt is dry.
• The little plastic pipet(included) is used to suck the gold up out of the pan.
Keep the storage(included) flask handy while you’re out panning for gold in the
water. If you find a nice, big or particularly pretty gold nugget you can put it in
a display cup (not included). These usually have a cork insert to keep the
nugget in place.
• You can take away the big rocks and material from your
pan with a tweezer.
• You can practice your gold panning techniques in your
back yard. Once you’re able to easily work your way
through the pan with only the BBs left in your pan in the
end, you should have no problem keeping the gold in your
pan when you hit the real thing.
