arcing.
Besuretheareaaroundthebatteryiswellventilatedwhilethebatteryisbeingcharged.3.2
Cleanthebatteryterminalsbeforechargingthebattery.Duringcleaning,keepairborne3.3
corrosionfromcomingintocontactwithyoureyes,noseandmouth.Usebakingsoda
andwatertoneutralizethebatteryacidandhelpeliminateairbornecorrosion.Donot
touchyoureyes,noseormouth.
Adddistilledwatertoeachcelluntilthebatteryacidreachesthelevelspeciedbythe3.4
batterymanufacturer.Donotoverll.Forabatterywithoutremovablecellcaps,such
asvalveregulatedleadacidbatteries(VRLA),carefullyfollowthemanufacturer’s
recharginginstructions.
Read,understandandfollowallinstructionsforthecharger,battery,vehicleandany3.5
equipmentusednearthebatteryandcharger.Studyallofthebatterymanufacturer’s
specicprecautionswhilechargingandrecommendedratesofcharge.
Determinethevoltageofthebatterybyreferringtothevehicleowner’smanualand3.6
makesurethattheoutputvoltageselectorswitchissettothecorrectvoltage.Ifthe
chargerhasanadjustablechargerate,chargethebatteryinthelowestraterst.
