I/O Words and ID Code
Function mode After connecting the supply voltage, the ID code of the I/O unit are automatically
read from the bus adapter. The ID code provides the INTERBUS master with I/O
type data (inputs and/or outputs) and the number of words required by the I/O
module in the INTERBUS telegram. After the INTERBUS master has received and
evaluated the ID codes from the I/O modules, it automatically begins data exchange
in real time.
The length information is given in I or O words, the higher of the two values decides
the I/O module position in the INTERBUS telegram.
The following values are possible: 1 ... 10, 12, 14, 16, 24 or 32 words.
