Ethernet Parameters - SNMP Agent Functionality
The SNMP Agent Tab
The STB NIP 2311 module includes an SNMP agent (see page 197) that can
connect to and communicate with an SNMP manager through the UDP transport
protocol over ports 161 and 162. Remember:
z The SNMP manager automatically discovers and identifies the STB NIP 2311
module over an Ethernet network.
z The STB NIP 2311 module performs authentication checking on any SNMP
manager from which it receives requests.
z The STB NIP 2311 module manages event (or trap) reporting, including the
identification of two SNMP managers authorized to receive reports.
