Connecting an Advantys STB Island to a Quantum Master Using

Enabling RSTP
Enable RSTP for the STB NIP 2311 NIM:
NOTE: Checking the Enable Editing function on the Ethernet Parameters tab
allows you to edit all the Ethernet parameters from the Advantys Configuration
Software and store them to a removable memory (SIM) card. (When the
Enable Editing function is selected, the fields in the STB NIP 2311 web pages
become read-only.)
Step Action Comment
1 Open the Advantys Configuration
Software.
The Device Name (mySTB) appears in
red.
2 Double-click on the STB NIP 2311 NIM
in the rack.
The module editor for the STB NIP
2311 opens.
3 Open the Ethernet Parameters tab
and select the Enable Editing
checkbox.
When you make changes on this table,
the Ethernet parameters in the web
pages are read-only.
4 Open the Redundancy tab and select
the Enable RSTP checkbox.
5 Press OK.
6 Select Online → Connect. You are asked if you want to save and
build the configuration.
7 Press OK.The Data Transfer dialog box appears
and prompts you to select an option.
8 Select Yes to reset the island. The configuration starts downloading
to the island. This can occur only when
the island is in Reset mode. The
modules flash blue when the download
is complete.
9 Press OK when the Advantys
Configuration Software asks you to put
the island in run mode.
10 Close the Advantys Configuration
Software.
