Connect the PLC to the 140 NOE 771 11 Ethernet Module
Use these directions to connect the PLC to the Ethernet module in the Quantum
rack:
Step Action Comment
1 Select PLC Set
Address.
The Set Address dialog appears.
2In the Media drop-down
menu, scroll to
MODBUS01.
Make sure your PC is connected via a Modbus
cable to the PLC’s Modbus Comm. 1 port.
3 Enter the physical address
for the 140 NOE 771 11 in
the Address box.
The address is set on the rotary switches on the
back of the NOE module.
4 Click the PLC Run after
Transfer checkbox.
5 Transfer the configuration
to the 140 NOE 771 11.
Use a Modbus cable connected to the module's
Modbus Comm. 1 port.
6 Select PLC
Disconnect.
The PLC is now disconnected from Unity Pro.
7 Select PLC Set
Address.
The Set Address dialog appears.
8In the Media drop-down
menu, scroll to TCPIP.
Make sure your PC is connected to the Quantum
NOE’s Ethernet port. (This example uses a switch
to facilitate this type of connection.)
9 Enter the PLC’s IP address
in the Address field.
For this example the address is 192.168.1.4.
10 Press OK. Unity Pro prompts you to transfer the newest
project to the PLC.
11 Select PLC Connect. If you did not click PLC Run after Transfer before
transferring the project, Unity Pro does not prompt
you to run after download. However, you can run
the PLC by clicking RUN:
After pressing RUN, you see the same prompt to
run the PLC as if you had clicked the checkbox
before the transfer.
