Associate the Ethernet Module with the New Network
Use these directions to associate the Ethernet communications module in the
Quantum rack with the new network called Ethernet_1:
NOTE: A message at the bottom of the screen confirms that the configuration has
been built without any errors or warnings.
7 Click the box to the right of the Device
Name column to open the Property
dialog box.
The values of 18 and 5 for the
respective input and output words
represent the size of the configured
Advantys island.
8 To maximize your use of PLC memory,
change the WR Length to 5 and the
RD Length to 18.
If you intend to expand your island with
the Advantys Configuration Software,
you may want to reserve some space
by leaving the value of 100 in those
boxes.

1 On Unity Pro’s Local Bus screen,
double-click the Ethernet port on the
140 NOE 771 11 module.
The configuration screen for the
Ethernet port (rack 1, slot 3) opens.
2 On the Configuration tab, choose the
network Ethernet_1 from the drop-
down menu.
3 Click the Validate button. The arrow indicates the Validate
button:
Unity Pro asks you to confirm your
modifications.
4 Press Yes.
5 Click the Build button. The arrow indicates the Build button:
