Configure IP Parameters
Configure these parameters on the IP Configuration tab:
Configure the Address Server
Configure the address server to recognize the STB NIP 2311 NIM:
Configure the I/O Scanner
Configure the I/O scanning service on the IO Scanning tab:
Step Action Comment
1Go to Project Browser → Network and double-click on
Ethernet_1.
The configuration window
for the network
Ethernet_1 opens.
2 Enter these
parameters in the IP
address
configuration area:
IP Address: 192.168.1.4. This IP address
corresponds to the
140 NOE 771 11.
Subnetwork Mask: 255. 255.
255.0
Ethernet configuration:
Ethernet II
Accept the default
configuration.
3 Enable these utilities in
the Module Utilities
area:
IO Scanning Scroll to Yes for the
appropriate utility.
Address Server
Step Action Comment
1 Click on the Address Server tab.
2 Enter the device name in the Name
column.
z The NIM’s device name for this
example is STBNIP2311_016.
z Netmask and Gateway values appear
automatically after a name is entered.
3 In the same row, enter the address
of the Ethernet port in the
IP Address column.
An Advantys island for this example is at
IP address 192.168.1.16.
Step Action Comment
1 Click on the IO Scanning tab.
2 Enter the address of the
STB NIP 2311 NIM in the
IP Address field.
The NIM in this example is at IP address
192.168.1.16.
3 In the same row, populate these
fields:
z RD Length: 100
z WR Length: 100
You can change these values after the
required read and write lengths are known.
4 Enter %MW101 into WR Master
Object field.
