How to Configure Unity Pro to Use Advantys Island I/O Data
Introduction
Use these instructions to configure Unity Pro to use the input and output data of the
Advantys island with an STB NIP NIM.
Create a Quantum Rack
Create a Quantum PLC rack for this example:
Create a New Network
Use these instructions to create a new network:
Step Action Comment
1 Open Unity Pro. You are asked to choose a processor.
2 Select File → New. The New Project dialog box appears.
3 Expand the Quantum menu. Click the plus (+) sign next to Quantum.
4 Double-click on 140 CPU 534 14A.
5 Select Local Bus to see the rack. The processor is shown in slot 2 on the
PLC rack.
6 Double-click slot 3. The next module you select will occupy
slot 3.
7 Expand the Communications menu. Click the plus (+) sign next to
Communications.
8 Double-click on 140 NOE 771 11. The Ethernet communications module
appears in slot 3.
9 Double-click slot 1. The next module you select will occupy
slot 1.
10 Expand the Supply menu. Click the plus (+) sign next to Supply.
11 Double-click on 140 CPU 111 00. The CPU appears in slot 1.
Step Action Comment
1 Expand the Communications
menu.
In the Project Browser, click the plus (+)
sign next to Communications.
2Select Networks → New
Network.
The Add Network dialog box appears.
3Select List of Available Networks
→ Ethernet.
For this example, you accept the default
network name (Ethernet_1) in the Change
Name field.
4Press OK.
