Bridge Statistics Descriptions
The RSTP Bridge Statistics page contains the following read-only data:
General Bridge Status The status of RSTP on this device (enabled or
disabled).
Bridge ID A unique bridge identifier that is the concatenation of
the bridge RSTP priority and the MAC address.
Designated Root ID The unique bridge identifier for the root bridge.
Designated Root Port The STB NIP 2311 port (selected by the RSTP
algorithm) that leads to the root bridge through a least
cost path (the rootpath).
Rootpath Cost The measure of the shortest distance from the
STB NIP 2311 designated root port to the root bridge.
The RSTP algorithm calculates this as the sum of the
bandwidth-based cost assigned to each segment that a
packet must traverse from the STB NIP 2311
embedded switch to the root bridge.
Total Topology Changes The total number of topology changes detected by the
STB NIP 2311 embedded switch since it was initialized
or reset by clicking the Reset Counters button.
Default vs. Learned Default Hello Time The period (sec) between Hello messages sent by the
root bridge.
Learned Hello Time The Hello time (sec) that has been learned by the
STB NIP 2311 embedded switch, if the Hello Time has
not been configured on the root bridge.
Default Forward Delay The time (sec) the STB NIP 2311 remains in the
listening and learning state before it enters the
forwarding state and begins to forward Ethernet
packets.
Learned Forward Delay The learned time (sec) the STB NIP 2311 remains in
the listening and learning state before entering the
forwarding state (if there is no configured forward delay
time).
Default Max Age The maximum length of time that passes before a
bridge port saves its RSTP configuration information.
Learned Max Age This value is obtained (learned) after the configuration
of an RSTP-based ring topology. The value varies
depending on the distance between the device and the
root bridge in the ring.
