Configuring Master Controller Settings
Configure the master controller settings after you have accessed the module’s
embedded web pages (see page 145):
Step Action
1 Click on the Setup menu command to open the Setup page.
2 Select Master IP on the left to open the Master IP Configuration page.
3 Enter these master controller values:
z Master 1: IP address of the first master controller
z Master 2: IP address of the second master controller
z Master 3: IP address of the third master controller
NOTE: At least one master controller is
required. The IP address of each master
controller must reside on the same network
as the STB NIP 2311 module.
Reservation Time:
z Use the spin control to enter a value: 0 to 120000 ms (in increments of 10 ms). (Default = 60000 ms.)
z The reservation time is the interval within which a connected controller must execute a write command
to the STB NIP 2311 module. Write access expires if no write command is received during this period.
This time period is renewed each time a write command is received prior to expiration.
z This time applies only to non-identified master clients. The value represents the amount of time that a
non-identified client has exclusive write access before another non-identified master can write. Identified
masters immediately cancel a non-identified master's reservation time when they write.
Holdup Time:
z Use the spin control to enter a value of 0 or 300...20000 ms (in increments of 10 ms). (Default =
1000 ms.)
z The Holdup Time is the period of time that outputs hold their current state without receiving a write
command from a master controller. When this period expires, outputs are set to their fallback state.
