Some Hot Standby architectures require the use of two Quantum
Ethernet I/O PLCs located several kilometers
apart (up to 15 km with the 140CPU67261 CPU).
In tunnels, for example, the two PLCs can be located one at each end. The switches are connected by a ber
optic link. These switches are connected to the CRP Ethernet head adaptor or CRA Ethernet drop adaptor via a
copper link.
