Note:
• Use batteries of the same type. Never use different types of batteries together.
• To use the appliance with batteries, disconnect the power adaptor from it.
Basic Functions
Switching the Unit On & Off
1. Power the unit as described above.
2. The unit is now in standby mode.
3. To switch the unit on, press the STANDBY button once.
4. To switch the unit off into standby mode, press the STANDBY button again.
Display Backlight
The display has a backlight with three brightness settings: Low / Medium / High.
1. To set the brightness level, press the MENU button while the unit is switched on (DAB+
or FM mode) and rotate the SCROLL control until the display shows “System”.
2. Then press the SELECT button and continue to rotate the SCROLL control until the
display shows “Backlight”.
3. Rotate the SCROLL control to select between “Low”, “Medium” and “High” and then
press the SELECT button to conrm the setting.
Notes:
• When the radio is in AC mode, the display backlight will be at the set brightness all the
time when the unit is switched on and dimmed when the unit is in standby mode.
• When the radio is in DC battery operation, the display backlight will be at the set bright-
ness for around 10 seconds and then go to dim. On every key press it will go to the set
brightness. In standby mode, the radio and display backlight will be turned off.
Mode Selection (Switching Between DAB+ and FM)
• With the unit switched on, press the MODE button to switch between DAB+ and FM
mode.
Volume Control
• To increase the volume, rotate the VOLUME control clockwise.
• To decrease the volume, rotate the VOLUME control counter-clockwise.
Menus
The following controls are used to navigate the menu tree to choose and select the required
settings:
• Press the MENU button while the unit is in DAB+ or FM mode to enter the main menu.
• Press the SELECT button to enter sub-menus or items and to conrm settings.
• Rotate the SCROLL control to navigate through menus and options.
• To exit the menu or go back inside the menu, repeatedly press the MENU button.

• Current or default values are indicated by an asterisk (*) on the right-hand side of the top
line of the character display.
