We make a dierence
There are a lot of school children in Ethiopia
who do not have direct access to clean, fresh
water. They have to carry water with them to
school from far away, and usually they bring it
in a big, yellow, plastic can.
AMOKKA changed that by constructing the tap
water station for the local elementary school
for the children from first to fourth grade.
This water tap station was constructed in front
of the school and will provide clean water to
1000 school children. This will have a great
impact on their everyday life. They will forever
say goodbye to the big, clumsy, yellow, plastic,
jerry cans.
AMOKKA provided the means for the essential
ingredients of this project, that is: water pipes,
tap, concrete, gravel, framework, machines
and constructors.
In order for the project to be a great success,
we inspired the community to get involved.
Everyone from school children to teachers,
parents, and kebele (village authority) con-
tributed and took ownership of the tap water
station project.
