3.4.4 : Zooming the “Thumbnail” Display

Double click the left mouse button to zoom , on any of the sixteen

thumbnails, to get a closer look. When zoomed, the resolution of the dis-

play is increased and the display is updated with the automated parameter

estimates for that call. As shown in figure 6, the zoomed thumbnail is

enlarged by nearly a factor of four. To un-zoom, click the right mouse

button.

The zoomed thumbnail now includes parameter measurements in the up-

per right corner . A zoomed sonogram is overlaid with computer gener-

ated tracking and feature identification information to provide the opera-

tor with all of the signal characteristic information in one display. This is

useful for checking the performance of the SCAN’R

against various

types of bat call as well as for quick visual species identification.

Please note that the parameter measurements displayed use the same pa-

rameter set format that is selected for the output file.
