Making a preview scan
To scan an image, you start by making a quick preview scan, which will be displayed in the Pre-
view window.
1 • Open the Preview Setup window by choosing Preview Setup from the Scan menu or tool
bar or clicking on Preview Setup in the Connections window.
2 • Using the mouse, draw a frame in the Preview Setup window to define the area you want to
preview-scan.
3 • Set the preview parameters as desired.
4 • Click on the Preview button.

The “Scan Setup” window
• The window shows the last frame used.
• To change the frame, drag its corners.
• To move the frame, place the cursor in the center of the frame and drag.

• When the preview scan is completed, the image will be displayed in the
Pr
eview window. Here you can define one or more exact areas you want to
scan.

Scan Setup window will also appear. It lets you set some important
scanning parameters for each image.
