5-3. Message Flows
The L3 uses the Level 2 - Level 3 Interfaces to register with as many instances
of L2 as it requires, to activate and deactivate links, to access and respond to
status information, and to send and receive data.
This section describes typical flows that the L3 can use. This section is not
intended to be a full set of signal flows; other flows of signals are possible,
and some signals are not included. The signal structures are described in
detail in Chapter 6, CBI Buffer Formats.
The following abbreviations are used in the message flow diagrams for the
components of the stack:
L2 Level 2 component (for example, HW-MTP2)
L3 Level 3 component (for example, MTP3)
