9.3.2 Fusing Pressure Mechanism
The pressure roller [A] is pressed up against the hot roller [B] by a pressure
bracket [C].
The hot and pressure rollers are silicone type rollers for improved paper
separation.
The pressure screw [D] is paint-locked to prevent it from loosening during
transportation and storage. Normally, this screw should not be used, except
for when replacing the hot and/or pressure rollers. This screw adjusts the nip
band width (refer to the nip band width adjustment in the Replacement and
Adjustment section).
When replacing the hot and pressure rollers, the hot roller pressure can be
released by removing the upper fusing unit.
