7.3.2 Transfer Belt Release Mechanism
The transfer belt unit has a release lever at the front side of the drum. This is
because the transfer belt unit always contacts the drum during normal
operation (the nip band width is about 3 mm), but must be moved away from
the drum to remove the transfer belt unit. Moving the release lever rotates
the release lever cams [A]. The tension bracket [B] and tension roller are
shifted by the cams, creating a gap of about 3 mm between the drum and
the transfer belt.
